The Inaugural Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 on the historical campus of Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. Our Division C event will feature 30 teams competing in all 23 events. Competition events will run from approximately 7:00am to 3:00pm with the closing ceremony finishing by 7:00pm.
Our schedule will mirror the 2018 Nationals Schedule
Event Writers/Supervisors will be Science Olympiad alumni here at Harvard College, many of whom have attended Nationals. That being said, coaches do not need to worry about running events or bringing materials.
Each school may register up to 2 teams.
Registration for our 2018 Invitational Tournament is open. Please register using the link below. Teams will be accepted on a rolling basis until we reach capacity. Completion of the registration form does NOT guarantee participation in the tournament. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of registration, which will let you know whether you have successfully reserved a spot for your team in the tournament or if your team has been placed on the waitlist.
The Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College will be running all 23 events found in the official 2018 Rules Manual here. We will be abiding by all national Science Olympiad rules clarifications as well as the following:
All students participating in Forensics and Chemistry Lab will be required to attend a 1-hour training session led by Harvard teaching staff from 7:00am-8:00am. More information about this will be sent to coaches prior to the tournament.
Rules and Regulations
Teams must be registered with their state Science Olympiad organization prior to competing in the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College.
All students must sign (1) a liability waiver, (2) a health form, (3) a media release form, prior to competing in the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College. Forms will be provided to coaches after registration is confirmed.

The Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College will be scored based on the Official Scoring Guidelines specified here
Unless otherwise stated, the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College will adhere to all rules stated in the national rule book and national event clarifications posted here. In cases which the printed national rule book specifies different rules or content for different competition levels, the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College will follow the the rules specified for the regional tournament level
Each team must be accompanied to the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College by one coach, and one chaperone (two unique adults). Every team will be given access to a homeroom in Harvard Yard where the chaperone must reside for the duration of the tournament
Who can register?
Teams must be registered with their state Science Olympiad organization prior to competing in the Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament at Harvard College, and must conform to the Science Olympiad Division C membership rules found here.
When can I register?

Why is the registration fee $150?
Our event is hosted in Harvard Yard which is the center of the oldest part of Harvard University’s campus. We understand that our registration fee is on the high end for invitationals; this is to ensure venue costs don’t inhibit us from properly executing on the other aspects of the invitational.
How big can my team be?
We allow teams of up to 15 high school students, no more than 7 of whom can be seniors. Every team also MUST have at least one dedicated coach AND one additional chaperone.
How will parking on campus work?
As our event takes place on a Sunday, street parking in the City of Cambridge will be free of charge. Additional parking space will be made available for volunteers pending availability.
When will you release room assignments, event schedule, team list, etc.?
Once all teams are registered, we will be able to provide room assignments and other information. At latest, this will be four weeks before the event. We will send an email to team coaches when this information is finalized.
